But that contract is 7 years. At one point long term contracts like become big cap dumps. Its just not a risk worth it for MTL

Basically what I’m tryna say is that Dumba will be fine for 3-4 years, but his value and needs will go down a lot after that. We aren’t true contenders for the next 3 years, even with Dumba

Yeah i understand but cap is going go up and for 3-4 year deal his AVV would be 6.5m

Duchene already gone. Newhook will want and get more. You forgot RHP and Ylonen. Dumba had poor year. Don't even want him for 2 years. Reinbacher will be here in 1-2 years.
