That's not the intent. Dubas had a presser, and said the next order of business was to make some AHL signings. Wilkes-Barre was awful. So there's probaly going to be more deals like this from Dubas, to try and make the Baby Penguins an actual team again.

Koppanen is an AHLer, not an NHLEer. His signing adds depth to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

It's a two way deal. He won't have the same salary in the AHL.

It doesn't matter. If the Penguins success comes down to who occupies their 40-50 range contracts, the season's lost anyway.
