Hawks decline, Robertson is not enough of an inducement to take on Murray’s contract.

Fair enough, but how much more? It’s not like Chicago has been shy about taking on bad short term contracts…

Whatever. If you want something else out of the farm then toss it in.

Hawks only interest in Murray is to acquire another 1st. So Murray and Toronto's '24 1st for Chicago's '24 3rd.

It’s hard to take that cost seriously when Bailey only cost a 2026 2nd just for Chicago to buy him out. I think you’re overestimating the price here for Murray, who actually plugs a hole in the lineup. Plus Chicago is going to need bodies once they fire-sale next deadline so Robertson fits. The price might be a little higher than I posted, but it isn’t much.

The difference in pick value between a late 1st and early 3rd is a 2nd, so essentially same as Bailey. Murray plugs no hole for Chicago. They are set in goal for this season at both the NHL and AHL level. Murray is just a 5th body in a position that teams only need 4 of. Maybe Leafs should try moving him to another team because the cost to move Murray to the Hawks is much closer to my deal than yours.

Well to start, I don’t think Robertson is the type of prospect who would interest the Hawks. Davidson and his staff have put together a very specific profile they look for and have mentioned repeatedly skating and compete, not sure these things are the strength of Robertson’s game.

On top of that, Murray’s contract has a $4.6m cap hit and requires a cap payout of significantly more, a 3rd round pick is no where near close enough to getting a deal done.
