Description

I don’t expect any more moves from Jarmo until the deadline, barring some crazy unforeseen circumstance. Babcock has a really good and well balanced roster to coach, and this team should be much improved with being healthy and playing under his simple and strict puck possession system.

Bemstrom will be waived to CLE and likely clears, Blankenburg is sent down waivers exempt, Voronkov and Jiricek start in CLE and wait for an injury.

The only move left before camp is signing Kincaid, Stalock, Jones or another veteran goalie to get spot starts in Cleveland and come up if Elvis or Tarry get hurt.

Christiansen, Berni and Bjork force Ceulemans, Jiricek and Svozil to fight for minutes in CLE. TFW, Bemstrom are there to push Chinakhov.

The organization is in a super healthy place right now with contract balance, vet/youth balance, and a bevy of prospects on the reserve list that could be signed if they continue to grow.

Life is really good right now for Jackets fans.

I guess we’ll see. I think they should at least be competing for a wildcard spot right down to the wire.

Personally I think it all boils down to health and getting some decent goaltending. Both of which should happen with Babcock raising training standards, improved defensive structure and personnel upgrades on the blueline.

I also think Fantilli taking the 1C role by mid season isn’t too far fetched. The kid is an absolute animal and scored a Michigan goal on the first day of development camp.
