New GM full tear down tank
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>LOL, and how is it going for CBJ with Jenner making all of his teammates better? Like you’re making the argument for me, the most valuable thing in the NHL is guys that produce points because it’s the hardest thing to do, it’s why they get paid the most money, it’s why they have the highest trade value. Who cares if he kills penalties if you paid the equivalent of 2 1st rd picks 2 2nd rd picks and a 3rd you want that guy driving play producing points, do you actually think that any NHL team is paying that price for a guy to kill penalties?</div></div>
I’m not going to waste my time trying to convince you. Believe what you want.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>Learn hockey lol. Guys get paid to produce points, guys have value in trades if they produce. Guys don’t get traded for the equivalent of multiple 1st rd picks because they are good in the room.</div></div>
It’s not even about the room. Guys produce on the ice when their team has the puck and when they have space to make plays. Jenner is a guy who makes all of his teammates better with the space he creates from his compete level and forechecking. He also is one of the best faceoffs and net front guys in the league, and an elite penalty killer. His cap hit also gives him tremendous value.
EDM has two of the best point producers in the league, and how’s that working out for them? It’s not all about points. You need a well rounded team in order to win. There are not a lot of guys like Jenner in the league. Every GM would love to have him.

Learn hockey. Impact goes far beyond points. Boone Jenner is the type of guy that all GM’s covet. Covet is not even a strong enough word. They lust for him.

Columbus needs to sell and rebuild under new management
A lot of these values are waaay off. The CAR, LAK and DET deals are awful for Columbus, and all the other teams would easily decline the others.
A small market team like Columbus also isn’t going to acquire and bury two $5mil goalies in the minors either. That’s something that only Toronto could or would do.

This is hilarious. Like three bad weeks of this season negates 9 years of being a ppg game breaker. Lol.
The Flyers absolutely wanted him, but they dodnt have the cap space and Fletcher was unwilling to pay to offload JVR to create it. He’s a dope and that’s why he was fired

What if
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sharcuda22</b></div><div>This wont be a deal for the sharks. Boqvist has serious question marks, ros looks like a Kevin Labánc regen. I wouldn’t do hertl for Johnson straight up, cant trade a Bona fide 1C for question marks even if Johnson does have a super high ceiling he isn’t a more valuable player than hertl right now. This doesnt take into account that w/o hertl right now the sharks would prolly have like 1/2 a win on the season. Our top line center would be granlund lmao</div></div>
Ros would be mostly for the money. He’s gone after year so no commitment. Boq has questions but also a high ceiling and easy contract.
As for KJ, you’re tanking. Having 1-2 wins would be even better for you. KJ gives you a young piece that fits your rebuild with super high upside. It’s not like there aren’t downsides to Hertl either. His contract has the potential to become an albatross, and getting a 5OA pick for him is about as good as you can hope for.

Kent Johnson for Hertl is pretty close straight up, but you’re going to have to take some money back. Ros and Boqvist are both pretty decent players and give SJS flexibility with their age and contracts.

It would help SJS tank. Laine would be more moveable than Hertl in a year or two, especially with retention and if he regains form, which surely he will to some degree.
CBJ really need a top center and Hertl is two-way responsible so he’d be a good fit. I really like the idea and think CBJ could throw in a prospect as well, or Boqvist.

KJ looks to have star potential. CBJ would much rather make this trade than dealing KJ, but the 1st would have to be top-8 or 10 protected.

Laine has been close to a ppg player for a couple years in Columbus, he’s just had some bad luck with injuries. He still has one of the top-5 shots in the game and is capable of scoring 40-50 goals.
I believe in Barzal too. In fairness, he hasn’t had great wing support. I think playing with Gaudreau could really help him find his rhythm.
This could be a good fresh start for both guys.

Now that Boqvist has gotten a couple games he’s started to get back in the groove and is looking pretty good. His defense is still suspect, but that can improve. Guys with his offensive skills don’t come available all the often.

If you claimed him off waivers he’d have to be on your NHL roster. Right now he’s in the AHL so he could be stashed without clearing. He’s got talent. Columbus just ha a very crowded roster right now.
