this is the type of trade that turns buffalo around faster than waiting on Levi, who should be in Rochester.

Barzal is a victim in Long Island, give that guy some room to play actual hockey and he puts up 80-90 points in his sleep.

There's no way that Thompson is enough of an upgrade over Barzal to offset the dramatic downgrade from Sorokin to Levi, even with the Jokiharu & a 1st thrown in. Sorokin is one of the top 5 goalies in the world (slowish start notwithstanding) while Levi hasn't even proven he's a viable NHL starter at this point. There is zero effing chance that the Islanders would trade Sorokin for anything that Buffalo would be willing to give up.
