Looks good from where I’m sitting. Improves the locker room and the center depth. I’m tired of valuing Laine by his potential instead of his actual results. He’s either hurt, on fire, or invisible. No consistency, cannot be relied on, and has crap body language and attitude. He works hard enough and he’s skilled, but he doesn’t have that dawg in him.

You aren't doing a very good job at convincing buyers here.

All jokes aside he'd do terrible in Torts' system so this would probably be a negative for the Flyers.

Torts helped turn him into a 200ft player. He was CBJs best defensive forward last year by several metrics.

I mean that is a hell of a cap hit but…ya I’d do this. Even if he can’t find it again, they flip him at next years TDL. Maybe a change of scenery gets him back to what he was in Winnipeg. It’s a gamble but what if it pays off? He’s only 25, could easily fit into their rebuild. Can he play LW? Lol

Where he should be to be honest which I know flyers wouldn’t mind having right now. I was going to do a Johnny one similar to this just to see what the reaction would be but this works too

Didn't know that. So he converted Laine into a 200ft player before leaving Columbus? If so then this could be a consideration.

That was Larsen’s second season. That has nothing to do with Torts at all.

I wouldn’t say he converted him alone, but he definitely started the process and seemed to have had a good impact on him.

Oh come on, just because the results came more in following years, you really don’t think Torts had anything to do with it? Please. Lars couldn’t coach Chris Pronger to play defense.

Ok, I’d be fine with PHI throwing in our 2024 2nd rounder too.

I get that Laine's inconsistency has been frustrating, but this would be selling very low on him. His value should be at least a mid-1st. Cam at this point with his cap hit is probably worth a 3rd or 4th (or both, similar to Bjorkstrand), maybe a 2nd with retention. Frost is still young and a pretty big risk but I would say he's probably worth a 3rd right now too.

CBJ have been burned many times but not being patient enough with players. If they move Laine, you can bet he'll start torching the league.
