Description

Super not likely, but dreaming about Jarmo getting canned before the end of the year so he can have more time with his family for the holidays, and bringing in a new GM who understands this fan base is tired of waiting and wants to win now.

I love Boone as much as anyone. He’s a great leader by example, but he is not the vocal commander this young squad needs.

I’ve noticed Werenski stepping up more in that sense and appears to be doing more to raise the standard and make it clear that losing is unacceptable. Boone seems to be just more about taking care of his own business. So for the right deal, I’d deal Boone and make Z the C.

This makes the team much better through the middle, older and more competitive. There is still a good mix of talent vs grit, and still a few young guys who can elevate through the lineup over the next handful of seasons.

Kent Johnson for Hertl is pretty close straight up, but you’re going to have to take some money back. Ros and Boqvist are both pretty decent players and give SJS flexibility with their age and contracts.

I wouldn’t do hertl for Johnson straight up, cant trade a Bona fide 1C for question marks even if Johnson does have a super high ceiling he isn’t a more valuable player than hertl right now. This doesnt take into account that w/o hertl right now the sharks would prolly have like 1/2 a win on the season. Our top line center would be granlund lmao

Eww. The flames trade is god awful for the jackets. Huberdeau might have the worst contract in the NHL along with Campbell.

Don’t hate the sharks trade though. It’s pretty fair for both sides

These are both awful for the Jackets, saddling themselves with over 30 year olds with big AAV's for 5 or more seasons at the expense of young talent isn't wise.

As for KJ, you’re tanking. Having 1-2 wins would be even better for you. KJ gives you a young piece that fits your rebuild with super high upside. It’s not like there aren’t downsides to Hertl either. His contract has the potential to become an albatross, and getting a 5OA pick for him is about as good as you can hope for.
