Description

This is of course in the event Toronto is unable to move Murray and have to buy him out.

I think Copley was fantastic for the Kings last season, however I do think the Kings would do well with a tandem of Murray and Talbot. Talbot played for Coach McLellan and Murray played under Coach Buckley

If Copley is claimed off waivers the Kings will have enough space (+350K) to hold one defenseman and a forward, if not the Kings will only be much closer to gaining the cap space to carry two skaters. I think Copley's contract will make it through waivers and the Kings will have the option of up to 5 goaltenders (Talbot, Murray, Copley, Rittich, and Portillo). I think we will likely have to loan out Rittich to make sure he doesn't take starts away from Portillo, but I think this mirrors what Vegas did at goal last season.

Living in reality, $2.5M to fill both goaltending positions, the top-9 and top-4 aren't going to be moved, so the Kings need to leverage relationships. All I'm saying is Matt Murray (who was taught under LA's new goalie coach) would likely sign a minimum and could be an upgrade over Copley.
