laugh Ottawa can't take on that much cap, Plus there's no way in hell Cat is taking only $8,000,000 per on Long Island.

They actually could take it on, and idk why you assume DeBrincat wouldn’t sign on LI at a contract at or over 8 million per year. I get that you want him in Detroit, but that doesn’t guarantee it will happen.

Real issue with this trade is that the isles would have to be incredibly stupid to trade their 23 year old top pair caliber d man for a winger. It would destroy the isles blue line, and set the franchise back two decades.

Islanders probably have to add to this trade. Plus i don’t know why Ottawa would want Dobson. His point total would decrease because he probably wouldn’t be on PP1

And it seems like Ottawa is set with centers and defensemen so they would probably want a winger back

Ottawa’s right side is very thin and Dobson’s trade value is just flat out higher than DeBrincat’s. Also the isles PP is pretty bad so I doubt it actually impacts his point total.

Lol in what world is Dobson’s value higher than a multiple 40 goal scorer?

Without the powerplay, Dobson only puts up 30 points

Puck moving defenseman have value. You would react the same way if I suggested trading Miller for DeBrincat lol.

The rangers don’t need more offense nor even have the cap to fit him

If you’re so high on Dobson, then why trade him at all? Normally teams keep the better player in the trade

I wouldn’t trade him. This isn’t my post.

If anything I think Ottawa would want a shutdown defenseman since they have Chabot and Chychrun who are pretty good offensively
