How do you plan on signing Kakko, Schneider and Lindgren if you give Senko a huge raise. What about Shesty, Laf and Miller the year after that? Need to offload older players on expensive deals and focus on the youth and future of the team.

Trouba gone next year when he goes to a M-NTC. Then unfortunately probably kreider too.

Best bet imo is to move/ buyout Goodrow, Trouba and Panarin and trade Trocheck. Gives all the young guys top 6/4 spots and better opportunities. Plus gives flexibility to resign Shesty.

I'm so sick of the same old rangers move of overpaying free agents for it to just go to crap...

Goodrow isn’t going anywhere. He’ll be playing opening night

Kid line stuck on the 3rd line again with probably no improvement in ice time or special teams lol. Kakko wouldn’t want to come back

Well they’ll never learn. It’s only been 30 years of the same thing over and over again.

Truthfully it just means we’ll be stuck in mediocrity till we decide to rebuild again.

Isn't the definition of insanity "doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome". so is management insane for doing the same thing of overpaying free agents or are we the fans insane for continuing to expect a different result from management.

Cap hell only exist because of Covid. Seemingly hockey was the only sport affected by it apparently

Now this one I agree with you 100%. It’s crazy when you really think about it.

Yea then come crunch time when it’s a close game or up/down by 1, you think Lavi is gonna rely on the kids or the vets lol

We’ve heard the same story from Gallant. There’s a reason why Kakko wants to be in the top 6, which is because they get more minutes

NFL, MLB and NBA all seem to be running fine without missing a step. But the NHL the cap goes up $1m messing up everything in the process

Worse part is soccer is becoming much bigger in the states and I genuinely think it’ll pass hockey as the #4 sport.

To get tall the kids in the top 6, 2 of trocheck kreider or panarin will have to go. All with NMC

Yea I always say the NHL is an awful business. They don’t know how to market or do anything to help the business and sport grow

Salary shouldn’t dictate where you are in the lineup. It’s hard to fit the kids on special teams since they’ve been so well. So you have to get the kids a lot of EV time

The Ranger front office has been screwing things up for decades. Covid had an affect for sure, but some of the awful contracts on the Ranger roster were signed before covid. And it is also true that the Rangers are not the only franchise in this position. we are where we are' Let the open-heart surgery begin.

First order of business in retaining Laffy and K'Andre. It is not a certainty that both will still be here for the 23-24 campaign. But I will assume the Rangers find a wat to retain both with three-year bridge deals.

First Goodrow. I see no interest around the league for Barclay. A buyout makes more sense next year.

Trouba's next. Worst case a buyout but attempt a trade first. Key lineup moves Laffy - Mika - Kappo 1st line Kreider to 3LW if Laffy doesn't cut, move Kreider to LW1 and Laffy to LW3. Re-up Lindgren, Schneider and Kakko. Miller LD1 Foc RD1 Lindgren LD2 Schneider RD2.

25-26 Re-up Igor at $9.5M (projected mx the Rangers can afford. Trade Panarin (you can't pay Igor right unless you do. Options: Trade first, Taxi Squad second. Breadman's contract is so bad, NYR gets more CAP reduction that way than with a buyout.
