I like it. If JT sees the potential in a team that wins the lottery, DET could be a desirable destination for him. Really hope that Ericsson either improves significantly or isn't playing by 19-20. We still have those awful contracts of Abby and Luke but I'm sure with a new GM after this season we'll figure it out.

I dont see Larkin taking a bridge deal for the same amount as Mantha. Larkin will want to get paid decent. At today's level of play though, he is probably only a $4-4.5M player. There is no way any team is giving up a 1st round pick for a rental player, even if it is Mike Green. It should be a 3rd round pick for Mike Green, if Green resigns, the 3rd becomes a 1st (or becomes 2nd and 3rd). Fowler is a good player, but Tatar, a 1st and 2nd is pretty steep for most players in this league. Tavares needs to have a way better year if he is going to be worth $10M on the open market. Think of it this way, if you have Tavares at $10M and you tried to trade him to Pittsburgh for Malkin ($9M) straight up, would they do it? That is exactly why the wings are stuck with contracts of Franzen, Howard, Abdelkader, Kronwall, Ericsson, Nielson...
