Any team would be crazy to pay a premium to invest 4 mil across the next 4 years for Gibson. It's a Jack Campbell like mistake waiting to happen but worse because you are paying assets to do it.

Read up first before you comment, because the Leafs are so close to Buffalo/US, they typically pay their athletes in USD from the US, meaning they get around the Canadian tax where 50% of someone's pay check gets lost to taxes

Because Toronto is no such team to do anything behind the backs of the NHL and cap friendly (We'll all turn a blind eye to the "advertising deal" Tavares signed with MLSE, the 2-3million dollar one on the exact same day as Tavares signed his contract...). They have never ever once tried to circumvent the cap and definitely do not use all of their advantages to try and attract as much talent as possible

Califournia is just as bad for taxes, and cost of living is more. You make no sense.
