Any proof to confirm he's retiring?

Every report I've read has said he will and none have really suggested he's going to play.

Plus hasn't he had significant injuries 2 of the last 3 years around playoff time? That's the type of thing that as an old guy who's already won a cup, would probably push him to retire.

Exactly, that's not an actual proof and just "suggestions" so don't say "Bergeron is retiring" when you don't know it.

If Bergeron isn't retiring, he isn't taking that much of a payout to stay with Boston... he'd be asking within the 2.5 mill range

Why what did he get paid last year minus the after season bonuses? What did Chara take in his last year to stay with Bos?

My guess is Bergeron returns for one final go for the 100th season on a $1M contract with bonuses - he can still play and be a 1C.

Krejci is more likely than Bergy to retire, but interested in the reports that Krejci may return mid-way through the season
