Description

Rangers have exactly $2,216,792 to sign lafreniere if their lineup is to match daily faceoffs projections.

What if the devils offer sheeted him for 1 year $2.145M

Worst case the rangers have to pay that and are locked at the cap.

If Holtz proves himself better we now have a good trade piece to get at least our 3rd back from someone and probably more.

I tried to trade for a second round pick (to the coyotes who have like 3 and would probably only take our 2nd in 2025 and our 2024 3rd) but capfriendly wouldn't let it happen so I guess it has to be YOUR pick.

Also played with the defensive lines.

Hughes on the third and Bahl on the first makes the 2nd pair a shutdown pair of Seigs and Marino.

It would probably end up being a flip of Hughes and Bahl but that would be two offensive defensemen on one line.

Bahl doesn't get a choice. That's his QO. He doesn't have arbitration rights.

Rangers match.
But I’ve thought about this too from a total chaos perspective. The Devils would need to get their 2nd back and offer Laf $4M.
And then the years of offer sheet back and forth commences.

As funny as it was that they had to play with a short roster last year I don't think so little of the rangers front office that they would carry 22. That's just wishful thinking. Glad you converted either way though. It was a good thought.

With a full 23 I had them at $2.2M actually. The site had them at $2.3. The difference was the healthy scratch defenseman. I had Pajuniemi and capfriendly lists Harpur. It's in the weeds either way. Forcing the Rangers to pay Lafreniere $2m+

Ok, with a 22 man roster, the Rangers can pay Laf up to 3 million and still be under the cap. Extras are Jones and Belzille. Mackey + Harpur don't make the team over Gustafsson + Jones. No way they go 23 man.
