1.) We missed the playoffs by 1 point. How do we get a step closer to the playoffs?

2.) We aren't handing out another massive defensive contract on top of what we are going to pay dahlin and power.

3.) We signed Erik Johnson 2 weeks ago. To turn around and trade him would ensure no free agent ever signs with us again

4.) The make up of this roster is a mess

It'd just be smarter to try an offersheet and cough up a 1st, 2nd, 3rd rather than give up more valuable pieces in a trade. Also we've got no need for an offensive-minded and defensively-deficient blueliner
