So the Leafs can add a $3.5 - $4 million Dman to improve this poor DCorps.

Well no they can do more as if u dont overpay people they got more cap then people think.

Bertuzzi will probs get around what Hyman got on a long term deal especially if he stays

And even with Murray's 2mill buyout Leafs can bring in 2 Dman in the 3-4mill range along with Matthews at 13mill, Nylander 8.8mill, Samsonov 3.5m etc

If they dont want new, Brodie can come back on a cheaper deal than 5mill (2.8m x 2 years)and u bring in someone to play LD or keep an eye on Raifai

In the end the Dcore's fine. Rielly when healthy is good and has had b2b strong playoffs. McCabe has been solid wherever he goes and if Liligren gets his confidence back thats a solid RD. Niemela also has made a good impression and could have a strong showing with a full season in NA hockey and might get a peak come 2023-2024

UFA class for RD is also strong with Roy, Pesce, Demelo, Tanev, Brodie, etc

Did the math and checked they got room to work next offseason

Possible that they don't re-sign Bertuzzi either (if he has a strong season he likely looks for 7mx7, if he's injured they probably move off) and keep Domi (if he can get 50-60 pts) for something like 4-4.25Mx5-6 which would be an additional 1-1.75M to work with.

I think Domi is very likely to sign a team friendly deal like Nick Paul did. Lots of term low cap hit. As you can see it hes ecstatic to be here and there is a family history. He does well and leafs like him I could see him go I will take less to commit long term and finish his career here.

Bertuzzi I feel will make less than 7mill as really whose gonna give him that considering guys who were better made less and hes got health issues

As lets say he gets 20 goals and totals 60 points in 82 games thats not bad but if we look at some recent wing deals

Kane had 39 points in 43 games not counting the 13 goals in 17 playoff games and signed a 5.25m x 6 year deal cause he wanted to stay in EDM, Barbashev totaled 63 points including playoffs got 5mill x 5 years, Bjorkstrand 5.4mill x 5 years after 57 point season, Hyman 5.5m x 7 years after 33 points in 43 games, Rust 58 points 5.125 x 6 years 60 gp.

Now if he gets 80+ points including 30 goals I could see a team push 7mill on a 4 year deal but if we go 7 years guys making less than that as if he gets 60 points and wants to stay probs will be in the 5.65-6mill range.

But overall I checked even if u give Domi 3.5m and Bertuzzi 5.75m u still got the cap space to bring in a 3.5m Dman, Give Liligren 4mill and have a 22man team

The Matthews and Nylander contract are atrocious. Could get Hanifin, Pesce and Lindholm for less and with term.

Depends on what kind of season Bertuzzi has, if he's PPG through 60-65 games could get a pay day from a desperate deal. More than likely though teams would offer him 5-years. If he's playing 70+ then should be able to land that contract. If he just gets 60 pts in like 70 games, then probably 5.65-6 range but mostly like he gets 6+x6 on the open market like he wanted.
