Take out the retention and I could see Verbeek listening but I wouldnt be a fan haha

It wouldn't serve a lot of purpose doing this...

That frees 2.95 AAV on the cap the next 2 years but it's not like Ottawa was a prime UFA destination and that the prospect pool was overflowing with NHL ready prospects...
