Tank? No. This team as it stands without Bergeron or Tarasenko is too good to tank. Their defense and goaltending are still among the best in the league and the goals will come. To tank, we would need to sell. That means everybody short of Pasta, McAvoy, Lindholm, Zacha, and Swayman are up for grabs.

And the sale happens now, not during the season because as I said, this team is too good to tank.

Tanking makes no sense…
Almost all our assets (picks) belong to other teams so we would just be benefiting them. It would make more sense to try and grind out two successful seasons then tank starting 2025-2026..

And by tanking I don’t necessarily meaning throwing it all away but maybe start calling up the youth they have in Providence and get them their NHL time to help develop. They might not be highly competitive but they will be developing and in the meantime they’ll own their picks that will be benefiting if they have down years with a young roster.

sorry by Tank i meant signing Tarasenko (the tank) not actually tanking. i don't think this team is going to go from 65 wins to a bottom feeder.

Haha that does make more sense! And as for The Tank himself, I would love him on a 1 year deal. There's no center talent available so we might as well stack up on good wingers. I also really like the idea of getting DeBrusk back on his natural side.
