IDK what you're smoking, but Philly says thank you very much and runs before Billy G can change his mind

The only issue I have twitch this is that I don’t think Philadelphia is going to use one of their retention spots on Ristolainen. They’re already using one on Hayes for multiple years, can’t see them doing that again for 4 years.

Especially in a deal like this where ideally they retain on Foligno and flip him to a team looking for grit for the playoffs.

Is he really that bad? I admit I don’t see the Flyers play much but I’ve never had a problem with his game. It’s certainly not equal to where he was drafted and maybe it’s because the Wild always lack the requisite snarl on the blueline, bit I really do believe he and Brodin are made for each other…in very similar fashion to why and how Brodin and Dumba worked.

He's been abysmal. With his size he isn't that sound defensively which is what he is meant to be, and he provides next to nothing offensively. At 28 going on 29 he is what he is if anything regression is going to start happening. His hit of 5.1 mil is an extreme overpay.... at best he's a 3rd pairing use very minimally defenseman which I'd say he's worth about 2.1-2.5 mil. And you're giving up a promising Addison who's 23 and offensively gifted at RD which is rare in the league.

I hated he was part of the Zucker deal, but I don't see Billy G dealing him unless he's lost his mind

To put even more in perspective comparing to Jeff Petry who is at a 6.125 hit for 2 years and played 2nd pair time was a .51 point per game player with a better +/- at +2 this year (not the most useful stat but does mean a little something for DMen) vs Risto's 5.1 Mil hit for 4 years and played top pair time and had .27 points per game and a +/- at -4.

Just added perspective

+/- means nothing by itself…but I appreciate your input and take on this. My idea was to pair Risto and Brodin together to help each other out in areas the don’t shine in. Brodin is an amazing defender, but can’t push a grandma away from the crease and Risto needs defensive back up.

Yeah but with Brodin's .233 pts/game you would be getting an extremely negative offensive output from that pairing which I'm guessing you'd want to play at least 20+ minutes per game
