If Laf gets anywhere below 3 I'll be shocked. The market there points to a bridge deal worth at least 3.5

He doesn’t deserve $1.4M more than kakko

Nope he sure doesn't, but Newhook getting 2.9 and Jeannot getting 2.6 means Laf's agent is probably going to ask for about 1 mill more than those two (which frankly he should).

Kandre Miller was expected to get $4m+ and that was wrong

Laffy probably gets somewhere between $2.2-$2.75m

Hey, good on the Rangers if they can do that in the current market. Just pointing out that lesser achieving players got more than that very recently.

No I know haha. The rangers media and insider said it’ll likely be between $2.5m and $2.75m

I hope Drury uses Kakko’s contract as a comparable

Drury is the man. He can absolutely use that contract and squeak a bridge deal out. I think eventually Rangers are going to have to move on from either KK or Laf and the key is going to be making sure neither shows signs of regression when they move on.

I can’t see them moving on from Kakko since he’s the only right wing on the roster and they have none in the pipeline

Honestly, if they can get a good bridge deal for Laf I'd move him at the deadline this year unless they are in serious cup contention. Him having 1-2 years at a good deal would get a HAUL in return.

Well it’s tough because they’re tight against the cap and Laffy is good for 40+ points and possibly the future after Panarin and Kreider.

If he’s gone, it’s hard to find another cheap LW who will put up 40 points from the 3rd line

Woof. That's a tough spot to be in. But I forget y'all need to plan for the post-Kreider world.

It doesn’t help that their top prospects are all LW too lmao

I always say the rangers got lucky & unlucky with drafting Laffy. Lucky that they got the #1 pick, unlucky that a LW was the consensus #1 pick when they didn’t need a LW
