I could see the Kings taking on Lankinen at the trade deadline as a rental if their other goalies don't work out for some reason.

I don’t blame Trotz for believing that Forsberg, Josi and Saros can lead a team to a title, but I don’t believe that Pesce is the guy who gets them over the hump. They would be better off targeting William Nylander who would be a huge addition to their top six. Whether or not McDonough can bounce back from last season will determine whether or not they’re blue line is championship caliber regardless of any Pesce acquisition imo.

I don't think Nylander get's us over the hump either. Even if we move some of our assets to acquire him, there still leaves the issue of our depth, which is lacking. Plus, I doubt Trotz is going to bring in Nylander and then pay him more than our captain.

Trotz said he wants to retool on the fly. Take a step back before taking one forward. We have a lot of young players who are taking massive strides in their growth as well has having 5 first round picks playing in Milwaukee this season. Bringing in guys like Schenn and ROR to mentor the rookies while letting them get the minutes they need.

Any addition worth making in Nashville will probably require paying someone more than the Captain. The cap is about to see a huge spike, and players will take that into account. Nylander is a dynamic PPG forward who has experience at all three forward positions. I wouldn’t hesitate to add him.

Our RW's are clogged. Tomasino and Evangelista will be genuine top 6 players and Kemell is going to be a great goal scorer once he's adapted. We don't really have a need to bring in Nylander.

If we REALLY wanted him, we could also just wait until Toronto can't afford him and then sign him for free next year when we're in a better position to compete.

I think the ability to slide him to left wing or even center makes up for most of ur concerns, but I appreciate and respect ur position. That being said if you look at teams like Colorado, Tampa Bay and Vegas then I don’t think you should be worried about having surplus star power.

At this very moment, even WITH Nylander, I don't think Nashville holds a candle to any of those teams lol. In 1-2 years, for sure.
