If I was TOR I would say that I haven't seen enough of Edvinsson to know he will be that top 2 or even top 4 d man. I would ask for better return for Willy.

Edvinsson could be a huge win for Toronto cus you're paying him not even a million for the next three seasons. He played a few games last season and in one of them he was the best defenseman on the team, better than Moritz Seider. He's got the tools but will be out to start the season as he had shoulder surgery. It could give them a young top four dman for three years on the cheap. Not sure where else you're going to get that for Nylander.

Leafs are in win now. They don’t need a young unproven D man. Edv isn’t a Cale Makar who’s gonna be a playoff factor right away imo.

Red Wings could have $10,237,777 in cap space if they don't use their two scratch spots. They could send down Gustav Lindström and Fischer. They could also put Robby Fabbri on LTIR but I'm not sure about his ACL. Then going forward guys like Perron will free up even more cap but they have to sign Moritz Seider, Michael Rasmussen and Lucas Raymond. But I think they could pay Nylander.

I would say no if I were the Leafs. They are trying to win, edvinson isn't ready to be an impact player.
