Why not just take a chance on any of Comtois, Gregor or Patrick for less than Joseph costs and keep Beaucage and the 2nd. Seems expensive and illogical. You could probably sign two of the aforementioned with the money you've spent on Joseph, keep your assets and be able to actually run a full roster. Pretty sure you could sign Suter for 2 mil as well as another option that would be better.

If there was ever a front office that would not take a cap dump like this, it's the Avs' front office. And if we did take Joseph, it would be with retention and a bag of flamin' hot cheetos going back the other way.
