Garrioch reported that the Senators want to move Joseph to clear cap. With his term and current level of play, it will likely require a sweetener. He is still a bottom 6 NHLer with some enticing tools, but he is not a 3M x 3 year type player.
Sokolov and Ottawa seem to be at an impasse with his contract. He has been good at the pro level in Belleville, but hasn't cracked the NHL. He is a fringe NHLer with size. He has scored goals at every level, but his skating might hold him back from making an impact in the NHL.
Katchouk comes back to the Senators to give them special teams depth after losing Joseph. They need a cheap veteran who can contribute to the PK. I assume he does not have a lot of value. A 6th round pick comes back, but maybe that's the Senators pushing their luck.
