why in the name of God would CBJ trade a legit starter to CHI, AND give up a prospect and first?? Merzlikins is 10x the goalie Mrazek is. Kekalainen would hang up the phone immediately.

Agree this is nuts. Maybe an argument could be made they would have to trade a pick to take on Merz contract but taking back salary in mrazek and giving up a 1st is nuts, let alone adding a young prospect.

Plus what's the point. You maybe downgrade in goal when you have cap space. It's not like clb needs to get under the cap. They're there and may have LTIR space to boot
