Hello Strome

Description
I think a competent 3C and LW and over $3.0M in cap savings are worth a couple of high picks and a B or C prospect. We all know that Myers has to go. Beauvillier is OK but I like Garland better.

Vancouver is not a team that should be moving picks

Well this isn’t as bad as the OEL trade but ig has the same effect. Strome is not worth 5 mil and not good enough to be a good 3C.

I’m not so sure they would. They can likely get better deals by moving both players separately.

Henrique likely gets at least a 1st and a prospect at the deadline, especially with 50% retained - Nick Foligno got a similar return and Henrique is better. & Strome could probably fetch a late 2nd and a prospect too. At that point this deal has Anaheim taking Myers on and being compensated with Beauvillier for that - is that really worth it? Anaheim seems like they have a lot of middle 6 wingers and need a more elite guy.

This deal just doesn’t seem to fit Anaheim at all.

I think Rico would be more around a 2nd and a decent prospect, last year he would have been a 1st and a good prospect imo though but he has to get hurt instead so that made him pretty much immovable

I mean Toronto acquired Nick Foligno as I mentioned for a similar package to a 1st and a prospect and Foligno was hurt at the time of the trade. Henrique does so many more little things better than Foligno does so I can’t see why Anaheim would take less

I mean yes but last year at the deadline there was a letter that went out about teams acquiring players and putting them on LTIR until the start of the playoffs and how they could get in trouble or get hit with a fine or something like that

Obviously I’d love a 1st+ for Rico but I’m just not super sure it’ll happen

I’d love a Strome for Boeser and then Rico 50% for a 1st and a prospect — I’d go then and try and use that 1st and prospect for another winger possibly

The market changes every day but the Foligno trade is a bad trade to compare with. Everyone knew they overpayed.

Regarding Strome there’s 2 comparables. Duchene and Hayes. Strome has negative value already considering how disappointing he was last season and because he’s only played good next to Panarin. That’s concerning. Regardless there’s no point for Anaheim to trade Strome if they are serious about getting better. If not this is a slam dunk. But don’t worry, Vancouver would never do this trade
