This is a very, very deep pool. The question is, aside from Reinbacher, are there any real difference makers here? HmmmIdunnoman.

I'm not terribly optimistic about 160 pound Dmen in general, man. If Hutson accomplishes being a difference maker, he will be one helluva unicorn.

he will put some weights for sure in the next few years, but i agree its hard to tell. maybe he ends up being only a powerplay specialist, which is not the worse case scenario

I 100% agree with you, but a Freshman Dman who puts up 49 points in 38 games at 19 years old in the NCAA shows great promises. I do hate the fact that it's the Habs that have him, cause he has huge upside as a 62 overall pick. Time will tell

Doing great things in college hockey is not any sort of assurance a player can even approach that level of play when he gets to the NHL. History is littered with Hobey Baker winners you've never heard of or don't remember.

Again, no prospect has any certainty of being an impact players in the NHL. That's why they are prospect. I think arguments can be made for Hutson that he could potentially be a difference maker someday, without saying it is a certainty.
IMO, it's either top pairing D with huge offensive skills or nothing for Hutson. He won't be of use to a team if he plays as a 5-6 Dman without powerplay time.
