Seattle doesn't have tihe cap for Nylander. I don't think the Leafs do the deal either. Rather have one year of Brodie and Nylander and have some cap next summer that four years of EK even at 8m

Dang. You're right about Seattle. I read articles that said they had the cap space for Nylander but per capfriendly (duh) they don't. Got a suggested alternative team to trade Nylander to?

That's part of the problem with the Nylander trade, it gives SJS another headache looking for trade partners, just to get more assets. As for trade partners for Nylander you could go by teams with the least GF last year. So going by that metric ANA, CHI and CBJ fit that criteria. All have at least 4.7 mil in cap space right now. ANA is in division and conference, CHI is in conference and CBJ is out of conference. So going by in / out of conference preference CBJ is best. Out of those three teams CBJ is in win now mode, and looking at the age of their roster, Nylander fits that age bracket well. The problem with them is that they are already a top heavy team, and don't have a lot of tradable contracts to make room for Nylander. Roslovic and Bean look like the best assets to add to the trade. So maybe something like Nylander for Roslovic + 1st and 3rd, or Nylander for Roslovic, Bean and a 1st. Bean looks injury prone so I don't put much value on him.

Don't think Toronto would be interested in trading Nylander for Karlsson, and if that was the return SJ was looking for, there is no reason to even bother doing a 3-way trade to acquire him probably. I'm guessing Pittsburgh is at least offering a 1st for Karlsson along with other pieces of less significance but it's been reported that Grier wants more than teams are offering.

As for teams, that would be interested in Nylander, there would be plenty but it would require SJ to take cap back. In addition to ANA and SEA who could be interested, NYI and CGY are two teams looking for top 6 help. Nylander can probably fetch a 1st+good prospect/young roster player at the least.
