Boston Trade

Description
Tried to be as fair as I could, but I admittedly don't know much about Boston's roster and the cap situation made the trade a little tougher.

  1. van Riemsdyk, James
  2. 2025 1st round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
I think that this is a fair deal as far as Hartman for a 1st round pick because while Hartman's stats regressed this past season, he spent a lot of the season injured and still managed to put up fairly good stats for the number of games he played while
injured. I also added JVR coming to Minnesota as a way to make the cap work a little better for Boston, but I know it is unlikely because JVR is a pretty solid player and was just signed earlier this offseason. This might be a better trade deadline deal, but if Boston needs centers now it is a possibility.

Hartman's stats last year were the aberration. His points this year are the second highest of his career (in total points and ppg) and his goals the third highest in total and essentially tied for second highest in goals per game. Last year he had a crazy 13 percent on ice shooting percentage.

His career stats per 82 gp (which he has only hit twice (once 83!)) Is 16 goals and 35 points. His pace this past year was about 20 g and 51 points.

Pass. As you said, van Riemsdyk just signed and Hartman is a middle-six F, not a top liner. Either a real top6 C, a U25 young C or one through the draft should be the Bruins options.

A lot of what I was looking at in the trade was the Bertuzzi trade at the deadline earlier this year. In my opinion, Hartman is a similar player to Bertuzzi and can also play center, which would put my personal asking price at a 1st round pick like Bertuzzi. It doesn't matter which team we trade with to me, I just know Boston needs centers with Bergeron and Krejci gone so I picked them.
