stirring the pot with rossi trade ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ac3L1ght</b></div><div>No, don't trade Marco. He's finally developing and now people want to dump him. THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE SUCK EVERY YEAR.</div></div>
For the record, I'm firmly against trading Rossi. However, Russo made it sound like it was pretty likely to happen, so if we had to trade him for something like another prospect as Russo also mentioned, these would be some prospects that I'd be interested in for returns. Obviously I know nothing more than any tuned in beat writer, this is just my opinion on a return if we absolutely are shopping him.

Also probably too small. The whole point of trading Rossi is that he's too small and Guerin wants the team to get bigger.

TDL 2024 Selling
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sedin33</b></div><div>Ryan Hartman getting a late first and RHD journeyman? Seems steep for him</div></div>
My comparable was the Tyler Bertuzzi trade from last season. I know his contract situation is different, but his stats from the past few seasons are arguably better than Bertuzzi's at the time last season.

With Spurgeon on LTIR we obviously can take a cap dump for the rest of the year. Probably nothing long term though.

TDL 2024 Selling
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>This feels like selling for the sake of doing something with no clear purpose. Hartman is a very useful player and you're moving him for just a late first. Dewar too, an RFA who shouldn't be very expensive and can contribute in positive ways, for a 4th, for what reason?</div></div>
Prospects. Hartman's value should be pretty high after 2 good seasons (I wouldn't have extended him in the first place). He really just takes up a spot that could easily go to Khusnutdinov, Yurov, or Ohgren. Dewar I never liked his size personally for the 4th line. A guy like Caedan Bankier coming up next year with size and some hot AHL scoring might be a better fit.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div>I don't want to trade for any rental. Just get used to the taste of this poo samich of a team now because it's going to be the same team next year too. Spending assets now is just throwing good money after bad.
It's not like the team took a dramatic turn for the worse without Spurgeon in the lineup. MN was 5-9-2 (61.5p pace) with him in the lineup. Going into tonight's game they are 13-11-3 (88p pace) without him.</div></div>
The whole point of this post was because Joe Smith stated that the Wild will be looking to acquire a defensemen to replace Spurgeon at the very least until the TDL. I didn't make this because I think the Wild shouldn't do it, I was just looking into a possibility of what could make that happen.

I dont care if we take a loss nor do I think management does as long as its nothing too bad. If we flip our 3rd for a 4th or whatever i personally dont care especially if we end up selling.

Just keep in mind this will be like the 37th overall pick, nothing too different than a 1st rounder from a playoff team. Maybe if this actually happened the Wild would add a prospect like Adam Beckman or something. Just keep in mind the sticker tag of a 2nd shouldn't mean an automatic decline.

They're not giving up a 2nd. They'll find a bargain bin pickup like Bogosian was.</div></div>
I interpreted that as we pay now for a guy and then flip him
for relatively the same price, thus not giving up any assets. You could be correct though. Side note, looking through the list of right handed UFA defensemen it's pretty limited and most are on playoff contenders already.

My Take On A Lindholm Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>It's a pretty major difference lmao. That's like at minimum a 2nd round pick in value difference. Lindholm's not even being shopped right now anyways so whoever the writers are that you are referring to are just purely speculating. Also saying "a prospect" is quite a large spectrum. Danil Yurov for example is a prospect, but so is Matvei Guskov. Two completely different calibers of potential</div></div>
Yurov is pretty untouchable and Guskov is obviously going to stay in Russia for the remainder of his career. Khusnutdinov is a great two way center who is having a quiet season on a bad Sochi team. I picked Khusnutdinov because his play is very similar to Lindholm aside from the fact that he is still obviously developing. Many people project him as a middle six two way center in the NHL.

My Take On A Lindholm Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>If you were basing it on the Bo Horvat trade you would need someone who is 25 and under with top 6 (if forward), top 4 (if defense) or 1A/1B potential instead of a cap dump like Merrill. It was widely reported that Vancouver was looking to add NHL ready players 25 and under when they were shopping Horvat so despite being dumped a month ago to Chicago, Vancouver valued him quite highly a year ago when acquiring him. So much so that he was instantly elevated to the 1st line once acquired and he played quite well there. You would also need to be trading a pick that is top 15 at the time of the deal or offer a prospect of that value instead.</div></div>
Okay good job you found the one difference between this trade and the Horvat trade. Multiple NHL writers have reported that the flames would likely need a 1st, prospect, and cap dump for Lindholm, which is exactly what I have. The Wild also currently have a top 15 pick lmao.

I extended him because it's no secret that him and Kirill are really good friends, I want to move on from him too hence the one year deal, which likely leads into Yurov and Ohgren's rookie seasons the following year.

I made this roster knowing that guys could easily go up and down lines. Just like you said, any of Boldy, Jenner, Johansson, Eriksson Ek, or Lindholm could make their way up to the top line. Keep in mind, we're still a year out from this and maybe Zuccarello is a competent top liner then, or maybe he's better fit for the second or third line where he would still have some talent to play with.

A lot of what I was looking at in the trade was the Bertuzzi trade at the deadline earlier this year. In my opinion, Hartman is a similar player to Bertuzzi and can also play center, which would put my personal asking price at a 1st round pick like Bertuzzi. It doesn't matter which team we trade with to me, I just know Boston needs centers with Bergeron and Krejci gone so I picked them.
