Description

Overpaying to fill holes with vets at the deadline is on-brand for this management group, as is sending Clarke to Ontario after a few months to "learn the pro game". Todd won't tolerate Kaliyev with the defensively mediocre PLD and Fiala so he is shuffled line-to-line and in and out of the lineup until he finds himself on the trade block. It's a Blake hail mary play to finally win a round and save his job.

This assumes both STL and WPG are out of it and willing to accept futures by the deadline.

If the Kings are trading for Hellebuyck at the deadline, his cap hit will be pro-rated enough to where they won't need a 3rd team to retain.

The Kings aren't paying a 1st and Kaliyev for a few months of a goaltender that they can't afford to re-sign.

I'd take that for the Jets personally, especially if we're outside the playoff picture, but would prefer the 1st to be 2025 if I'm being picky

Finally someone did a goalie trade with LA, cuz man all im seeing is Devils trade for every goalie out there, but LA has talbot so idk about you guys but i think LA needs a goalie more than the Devils.
