Where does Hart End Up

Created by: GMDannyB
Team: 2023-24 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 5, 2023
Published: Aug. 5, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Alright Flyers fans. Briere just decided to randomly re-sign Big Sam Ersson on a random Saturday when he is a year way from a new contract. All of the Flyers insiders were saying it sounds like they expect him to play. Along with Ant San Philly and Di Marco saying Petersen’s camp came in with him also expecting to play, it creates an interesting dynamic. It’s been rumored that Hart would be moved already if it weren’t for the Hockey Canada report and he has also recently made his comments private on social media.

Question 1: If Hart is suspended or moved, would you be cool with Ersson starting and Cal backing up this season?

Question 2: If Hart is not a part of the suspended and moved he is indeed moved, where would you like to seen him go or where do you think makes the most sense?

Question 3: what return would you be okay with getting for Hart?

I'd like to see Hart in Edmonton if Holland could somehow blackmail a GM into taking Campbell off his hands.

I saw 10 or so Flyers games last season and each time Hart was stealing games for them. And it was a shooting gallery with mostly quality scoring chances. I thought he was outstanding.

I don’t see a trade where Hart and Campbell swap teams without there being a massive haul coming to the Flyers

I'm just thinking fit. I'm not a Skinner fan. I'm a big Carter Hart fan though. I believe he'd be great playing for a good team with actual NHL D playing in front of him. Flyers hang him out to dry each night.

People who don’t watch the Flyers just simply can’t weight in on a Hart debate cause what you say is literally true. Most nights Hart is in net it’s literally just a shooting gallery for the other team. The Flyers defense would get beat by most AHL line ups.

Assuming no suspension or other unforeseen events…I’d think they should…

(1) extend Hart long-term
(2) sell Ersson
(3) play Petersen as backup for 2023-24, 2024-25
(4) bring Fedotov back after 2-yr KHL deal (in 2025)
(5) develop Bjanason and Zavragin for 2027 and beyond

Their window probably won’t open for a couple of years so playing Petersen can only produce upside. If he rebounds, they could always sell him. If Fedotov returns, he could be top back-up for a couple of years (2025 until Bjarnason or another kid is ready).

Not trying to be rude but u literally didn’t even mention our #1 goalie prospect Kolosov that comes over next year and is a highly ranked goalie prospect. Hart is going to want a 6x6 to stay more than likely. I think they should cash in and develop Ersson and Kolosov. Ersson has only played 12 NHL games what real value is he going to have? Fedotov will be 29 when he comes over if at all so he’s not even in the conversation. I agree with Petersen as back up but I think Ersson and Petersen should be the tandem and you cash in on Hart.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the goalies if Hart gets traded/suspended and they get Fedotov to come over. Petersen, Ersson, Sandström and Fedotov could all be NHL capable goalies next season, altough Sandström wasn't that great last year and Fedotov hasn't played professional hockey for a year, but in his last season of professional hockey he was really good.

Is there really a chance Hart was involved? I thought he got cleared or something

Roughly…

2023-24: Hart, Petersen, Sandstrom
2024-25: Hart, Petersen, Kolosov
2025-26: Hart, Fedotov, Kolosov
2026-27: Hart, Fedotov, Kolosov
2027-28: Hart, Bjarnason, Kolosov

If Fedotov comes over he will be in the AHL, the dude hasn’t played hockey in over a year. Throwing him into the NHL would be a terrible idea. I think Sandström gets claimed off waivers when they have to send him down during training camp, he just isn’t that good

No nobody has been cleared yet but some players were guaranteed to not be there cause they have evidence they were elsewhere, Hart does not have that evidence.

I don’t see how selling low on Ersson but keeping Hart is the play for a rebuilding team and there’s a less than 0% chance Kolosov will be the 3rd string

I didn’t forget Kolosov…he certainly could work his way into a position where it would be easier to move Hart. But hasn’t played in NA yet. Could also be AHLer.

It’s completely illogical to say Kolosov could be an AHLer yet Fedotov at 29 is going to come over and play in the NHL and Bjarnason is just given a back up spot when Kolosov is literally higher rated than every goalie we have in our system aside from Hart according to scouts and insiders.

Interesting. It’s a more bullish take on Kolosov. Will be interesting what they do. If all works out…could be crowded position.

Maybe could sell Fedotov rights too. He is probably a more projectable player being a veteran…but with risk due to KHL deal. Play Hart, Petersen for a couple of years…Hart, Kolosov for 2025-27…then add Bjarnason if he develops.

Fedotov would start in the AHL, but I feel like they have to give him some NHL starts or otherwise he might just go back to russia after his contract is done. Sandström could get claimed off waivers, but based off last season I think it's more likely he doesn't get claimed.

Yeah idk what to tell you man not sure what you have watched of Kolosov in the KHL but I haven’t seen a single person say they aren’t very excited about him from both our European insider to scouts in general. I don’t think Fedotov has any value to trade until he actually expresses some desire to come over.

I could see Los Angeles as a team that could be interested in Hart. Some sort of duo of Copley, Talbot or Rittich isn't very inspiring. They don't have any good goaltending prospects, and have the picks Briere wants to make a deal happen.

When Provy was traded it sounded a lot like Hart to LA was also going to happen then it went cold. Many believe there is a deal in place for if Hart gets cleared to get traded immediately. I would be ur spot on that LA is probably a top spot for him if he goes. The question only becomes how much does LA value him and what are they willing to give up
