Boston won't let go of their hometown grzelcyk for Noah, Calgary doesn't need a D in return they would be smart to get a forward and lastly Boston should maybe keep a draft pick or 2 that draft board is almost embarrassing just selling off the whole future.

I’m a Sabres fan, so I’ve got no dog in this fight

But it’s really hard to imagine the Bruins giving up one of their top prospects and a 1st (plus some other pieces) for a rental
And yes, without an agreed to extension,
Hanifin’s value is that of a rental

I’d be shocked if they did that
Even with an extension u could be asking for too much

My reasoning was the value they spent on Lindholm

But Lindholm >>>>>>> Hanifin

Also, since they already have Lindholm, they don’t “need” Hanifin that badly

U really thing the upgrade from Grzelcyk to Hanifin is worth THAT much???

Like i said, I’m a Sabres fan, so i hope Boston does something that dumb- but again, I’d be shocked

With the limited cap; the Bruins have, this year and next year they shouldn't be spending it on a LHD
And don't think 30 year old Lindholm should be getting a long term contract from any team

I don't see Boston going all in like this for a LD. They'll probably run Grz all year and let him leave in free agency, if Lohrei looks NHL ready they could get rid of Grz at the deadline and run Lindholm - McAvoy, Lohrei - Carlo.

If they give up that kind of package, which I think they don't, they get a center. So far, they've been very good at aquiring players without giving up major pieces like Lysell and Kuntar (lesser of a piece but still projects to be a bottom six center).

Their big need is a top 6 center or 1C... 2LD is going to be open on purpose for Lohrei to take over.

Yes they would, they just are not going to. They don’t need Noah, they need a center and can only logistically make one move. They expect Lohrei will be the final piece in the D top 4 and it could happen by years end.

As you stated, Calgary would not be interested in Grizz as part of the deal anyway. Boston would move him in a separate deal if they traded for Noah (which I don’t see them doing)
