I disagree that Chicago really likes Evander Kane. I read the rumors, but they have their LWer next to Toews now. They may trade Anisimov, but it would only be because they got value back. Anisimov is a very solid two way player that provides net front presence for Kane. If the hawks and sabres have a deal with both AA and EK in it, the additional pieces would be going the other way...and not a 4th rounder either. Upon further review, most of these are serious reaches.

Please, please, please tell me Vancouver is nowhere near considering that deal. I don't think they are, but how would would that make any sense for the Canucks?

i'd rather use the leverage we have now of the lingering character questions and sign him to a 5 year, 5.75 extension. you can justify signing him at oshie's number but without as many years because of his perceived issues. keep him and jack together. you can see who works with them. i'd start with baptiste but maybe a pure burner (ennis, middlestadt in a year or two), or a big body to clog the paint (fasching), or somewhere in between (bailey). winning cures a lot. remember patrick kane's issues from a few offseasons ago? maybe because i brought it up just now, but it faded. it can fade with evander too, especially since some maturity comes for most of us between ages 25 and 30. i don't think we get better trading one of the better 5-on-5 players in the league and a guy with the ideal skill set to compliment jack.
