why would the Sharks trade a NJD 2nd rounder that has the potential to become a 1st plus other capital for a 6D?

If we simplify this trade, Sharks accept and it makes sense for them.

Macdonald plus SJ's 2025 2nd for Liljegren.

So the Leafs become cap compliant without having to move Brodie/Nylander who are much more integral to the team's success at this time.
