Do it JG (Moving Staal, Signing Shat, Jumbo Joe, and have +$4.5M in space)

Created by: narddawg

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 29, 2017

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Shat contract: All reports indicate that if NYR sign Shatt it will not be an overpay, hence the below $6M AAV.

Staal trade: I think he has negative value at this point due to the AAV and regression in production. I think a 1st and a B level prospect is enough to snatch a conditional 3rd from Vegas in a year in which they are slated to have two.

Weal: Could probably reach for $1M considering his production in the AHL and 8 goals in only 23 NHL games last season. Some team trying to reach the cap floor may be willing to throw him a multi year contract in the 1-1.5M range.
Nonetheless, I think it would be a savvy move to not only sign Weal but also Nestresail. Similar deals to that of Jooris and Pirri of last season.

Cap is so important and thinking Vegas would rather spend 5.7m a year for four years rather than have Staal, an AHLer and a late round pick which may/may not pan out in five years.

**** yo cap *****!

Weal and nestrasil would be cheap pickups with some upside. Just gotta hope AV doesn't play them on the powerplay for the whole regular season

If there's so much left in space, I'd give $1M more to Zib and maybe make it 5 years..., or $500K more for a 4th year. 4 years minimum. If Kshat takes under 6, it'd be 4 or 5 years not 6

I don't think there's any way Staal waives his NMC for Vegas.
