Not a prospect, but Mathieu Olivier is the only NHL player ever from Mississippi. I guess he belongs in this catch-all catagory.

Should have included Mississipi in this group of states. If on this list he would land at 14

Thanks. After looking them up, they would probably fall between 10-15 based on their potential. Would you agree?

Really hard to evaluate players who haven't played an NHL game against those with full careers, but if they live up to their potential they could be top 5 by the end of their careers

That is one of the things about making these lists, is it is harder to compare potential versus established, especially when hitting lists with not many players to choose from. When I did Ontario or Quebec, there was no point in looking at prospects too hard, and younger players had some real greats they could not easily leap frog. Makar in Alberta was one I put a real jump on over some retired well known great players, but he is a bona fide superstar akready.
