its hard but we will pass on this one. maybe add a top 12 protection on the pick. but hughes didn't want to move guhle for dubois so he isn't going anywhere.

I put Holmberg down because he doesn't need to clear waivers

The trade was originally posted by a Habs fan. I don't think a trade like this would happen between the Leafs and Habs but the value is there.

I know most Leaf fans (myself included) would hate to lose Nylander but this shows how they could replace his offence and get some youth as our system sucks and we have no high-end picks

But it's not like the Leafs can't sign 100 other Gambrells in FA

I agree but BT signed him and if you don't have to lose him and it dose not make a big difference in the lineup why not

Extending a RFA is not the same as signing a UFA.

But the question is why lose a player if you don't have to for minimal difference.

It's not minimal... Holmberg had 13 points in 37 games while Gambrell had 10 points in 60 games last year

This team looks just as good with more assets for the trade deadline if needed.

They take a slight loss with Nylander vs Kane but gain in their bottom 6 and D and future assets

Are you unaware of how Kane played last season?

Yup put a 64 point pace with a nagging hip injury on a bad Chicago team for the most part.

Him Joining the team after being fully healed and rested I could see him putting up great numbers

He's always been dreadful defensively and it's become much worse as he's aged. No thanks
