Oh, this is a GREAT idea for Anaheim, because the only long-term asset in the deal is Liljegren, so of course I love it for the Ducks, but what does Toronto get out of it?!? The Maple Leafs lose their best defensive defenseman and their best defensive prospect -- and a rightie, at that -- and what do they get in return: a good but not great middle-six left-handed forward plus some cap space.

Substitute Connor Timmins for Timothy Liljegren and it would STILL be a bad idea for Toronto (as it would be, then, for Anaheim). I'm with @TheresAlwaysNextYear -- Treliving wouldn't entertain this offer for a nanosecond.

P.S. My original comment was based purely on the obviously doubtful Team Title; it wasn't until after I'd posted that I realized the OP had offered his opinion explicitly, too, in that first entry.

I posted about it yesterday in the mock trade section asking the same questions. It's bad for both teams but outright boneheaded for Toronto.

However, it was oddly specific about the pieces involved.
