Let's say Hart is cleared of all wrong-doing, etc etc, all is well... a change of scenery still might be nice, a fresh start not just in hockey, but in life. So, Hart gets a chance to prove he can be a true, great number one for Arizona for the next decade or so, well within anyone's window, even for Arizona, just look at that Zucker signing, woo! Am-I-Rite?

Anyway, actually banking on Hart settling down, not being guilty of anything, and being a solid number one.

Flyers get the guy Jan Jenik, 6'1 centerman who has asked for a trade, good numbers in the AHL, doesn't seem shy about the penalty minutes (hopefully that's in a GOOD way, just meaning he's tough?), 23 years old, fits their timeline and possibly Tortorella's system. Also get a 2nd round pick, probably mid-round-ish, and also the goalie Vejmelka.

The Flyers signed Ersson to a 3 year extension, but he is waivers exempt, so he can go down, and likely will, as Felix Sandstrom evidently is not waiver exempt. Possibly even Cal Petersen gets sent down again like he did in LA, nobody will take him at his cap hit. Vejmelka can then tandem with Sandstrom for a while, give the Flyers a sense of what Sandstrom can do.

Flyers get the opportunity to trade Vejmelka at this deadline, in the off-season, or next season's deadline, for probably a pretty-ish penny, to a team looking for a goalie for a Cup run.

That's honestly disappointing lol. I think many here just do this for fun, possibly don't have much insider info on every player in the league, and often the expectation that we're all supposed to know everything can cloud judgement on some of our proposals.

Whatever the case, I think if someone disagrees with a sentiment, they should reply with a well reasoned argument to convince the other side of their mistake. If someone is convinced of their own side, they ought to be able to articulate it wink I love responding to those ones, I don't usually bother responding to the "LMAO, really? dumb*ss" ones.

I don't hate this trade, it costs both teams a pretty equal value so that is a good aspect. I can understand how fans can get attached to their players, but acting as if there is some kind of personal attack does not make the ACGM community any better.

As a qualifier these are my two teams and I have followed both closely for many years.

Hart can be a perennial top tendie but he does need to clean up his act and if his legal issues snowball that becomes very problematic for any team. NHL GMs have a short lifespan so they have to make calculated risks and Hart adds a lot of variables to the calculus.

Vejmelka is a very good tendie and still has more headroom to grow. I have opportunity to speak with his coach Corey Schwab from time to time and he believes that Veggi has not reached his potential yet. Janik is a hothead, could fizzle out but was brought up in the same system that Bunting and Garland both came out of as hotheads, he is a bust or boom guy. The second is always good for any rebuilding team.

Fairly balanced trade proposal but I think both GMs would need to be risk adverse in their decisions and this would very likely die in negotiations.
