GM Bill Armstrong's timeline was stated in 2020 when he took the job. He was going to do a full teardown to the studs and that his expectation to emerger as a competitive team is the 25-26 season. Judging the progress he has made since he took over from that abject failure, boy blunder, John Chayka, he is damn near perfectly on track to deliver with a sustainable future. This ACGM is my best attempt to take into account the real GMs methods and timeline expectations.

Lindgren is not worth even a fraction of that trade valuation.
Expiring contract on a middle of the road 2nd line pairing LD is worth a 3rd, maybe a 2nd.

Well, this is an option. One I hope never gets implemented. I am guessing you haven't watched any Yotes games this season.
Almost all of your contract offerings are off the mark by either/both AAV and term.
Reinhart would be a terrible add, his production would dramatically decrease, and his cost would cripple the rebuild that is actually progressing as expected, even with the crap lottery luck AZ always gets.
Forbert is just a body at this point, so unneeded.
Ned is already worse than either existing option in net.
The only add that actually has any merit is Hanifin and I would rather spend that money on an experienced RHD like Montour,

Graves is an interesting one to me. His cap hit with 50% retention would be an underpay for a good 2nd pair guy. The 5 years is the ?? but I don't think any decline will create an overpay at 2.25MM. Buyout would not be very detrimental either, if push comes to shove. I think his big body disrupter style of play would fit really well in AZ. I think the real issue for Graves is the rush generating system in PIT, he just does not fit.

If that Washington pick is somewhere like 14 or 15 I’m doing it, if not I’m finding someone else who’d be in that range who’s interested in that package.</div></div>
I think the real struggle in PIT is usage not player. Graves has been brutal in PIT but he is still a good 2nd pair D, worth a 2nd without retention. With retention there is need to add maybe a 4th but a 3rd should seal a deal.

IDK if it would be his choice. Dubas can be cutthroat and if there is an opportunity to move into the future instead of another couple years of Crosby he could well make the choice to not resign him and let him go to market. End of the day it really wouldn't matter for Sid's legacy. He will be retired as a Penguin and will be raised to the roof there.
A couple years getting a ****ton of cash to help with league stability is something I could see Sid doing. He is a good person as well as a good player.

More about the PR stunt then the actual value that Crosby would bring. Getting butts in the seats with a legend so the casuals can see the extreme skill on display from the rest of the team.
AZ needs someone that can be put in front of the cameras and wow the crowds. The only one that has the potential of becoming a "voice" of the franchise is Geekie and he is not likely to be a face of the franchise to go along with it.

Values are right for the AZ trade but I don't see either team wanting to make the trade. Skinner is doing well in BUF and Rosen is probably going to be something soon. Joker is ...Joker.
Crouse is a top six power forward. Pretty sure he has been playing hurt for the last 20 games or so. Fully healthy he was hitting 30 goals this year. That is the type of player you start looking for the second you trade. No need to trade. Lutz is an interesting prospect. Kid will be something someday, I would rather trade him then when the return value is high.

You could well be right. I have him as a declining 2nd line stay at home RHD. My valuation for a long-term deal is 4.65MMx6

I can see that but overpays for short term deals are appealing to players as well. If there are teams out there that want to do long term for them, so be it. I don't see the value for AZ, need to have spots when the talent in the prospect pool is ready to step into the National.

AZ should not be trading a good 3rd line center for a mid 4th line center. Hayton should not be paying in the top six, he has just been required to because AZ does not have any top six centers (Cooley soon) until some of the youth transition into the league. Once Hayton is paying in his appropriate role, I expect his production will jump considerably.

Looking at them
Skjei is an interesting choice. I would be stoked if a deal like this could be made. I think the AAV is low for the overpay that would be needed to draw him to AZ but the term is spot on.
I would also keep Kesselring over Soderstrom. I think Soda's time in the system has come to an end. Maybe a team like Pittsburg that needs to start the teardown/rebuild process could use a guy like him or maybe he would be a good add in asset in a trade, IDK but he has fallen to 7th or 8th on the defensive depth list for AZ.

Durzi/Moser/Valimaki/Kesselring/etc aren’t good enough to be a playoff team</div></div>
As painful as it is for Yotes fans to hear our own GM stated two years ago that the rebuild is going to be done the right way and not rushed like the last 4 failure attempts in a row. in 2022 he was projecting the compete window will open in the 25-26 season. Considering the talent in the prospect pool at present I think he was pretty close to right on the money. Still think there are several players that are going to be looking for homes that will help the franchise take another step forward again next year.

Still an undervalue for Hayton. He is an excellent 3rd line center that is very strong in the faceoff circle.
A fringe fourth liner and a 2nd are not enough. I don't think AZ wants to trade Hayton so any offer would need to be an overpay.
