Seems to me the only way the Leafs c
An be cap compliant is by making a trade or sending Lafferty down and essentially losing him on waivers, if they get dries he's on a two way so they don't have to worry about waivers. Value wise the Canucks win this trade but considering circumstances do you think this trade is possible?

No, Dries isn't waiver exempt and the worse player, would rather have the draft pick

My bad I had a misrepresentation of what waiver eligibility was I was under the assumption since he was a two way contract he wouldn't be waiver eligible

Leafs need Lafferty for the PK due to all their PK forwards leaving in free agency

legit question: who goes down in that case? Are they going to pass Reaves through waivers and hope no one bites on the 3 year term?

You're good... I'm not actually sure what the diff is for a 1 way vs a 2 way though
