What's a Cole guttman?

A very interesting but unproven young center that TBL drafted, passed on out of college, became a free agent, and CHI signed him. He tore up the AHL last year in his rookie year, and then came up to the NHL after the TDL for 14 games in which he scored at almost a .5 PPG clip. If he picks up where he left off, he could probably get that $3.5M AAV.

Unsure on the price for Kurashev, it really depends on what he does this season. But, I'm almost positive he won't be with CHI at the end of the rebuild, there are just so many moving pieces and players coming through our pipeline that I see him being traded before it's complete. So, as far as being available for trade, he isn't someone that is off the table by any means.

Of all those UFA'S you've signed, Hawks are probably only in on Nylander or another proven top 6 forward. They won't being in any UFA LD. Definitely not $9m on Toews. A 3rd pair RD is a possibility. And maybe a couple of bottom 6 depth forwards. But maybe half the number of the 8 you signed. Gajan won't turn pro, but they'll try to sign Bassie. Moore also probably plays a 2nd year in college unless he has a Fantelli like freshman year. A 4th for Kurashev is probably fair based on his current level of play.

Basse is pretty bad. Wouldn't be surprised if he has completely fallen off their radar, honestly.

I don't know about the rest of it but that third line would be built for speed. Maybe not so good defensively but watch them fly up the ice if they got the puck.

Huh?? Bassie was on the Richter watch list same as Commesso last season. Has improved every year of his college career.

Yeah. Saw that and i've seen his stats, but, imo, actually watching him play tells a different story. I made a point to watch a good amount of his games last season, and, to me, he did not look like someone that is going to get a contract any time soon. I could certainly be wrong, though. I'm no expert on goaltenders. If they do it, I wouldn't be surprised to see him begin his pro journey down in the ECHL and Rockford get someone more seasoned to be the tandem with Commesso. Whether that's Stauber or Weeks or a FA, who knows.

Next year is way too soon to start signing that many free agents. We are rebuilding through the draft. Once the kids start developing (or not) then Hawks should start filling holes.
Basse is not horrible by any stretch, but definitely on the outside looking in at this point. Will need to continue improving to get any shot.
Ryan Lomberg???? Why would you give that guy 2 mil to play on the fourth line???? Got plenty of bottom 6 players in the org to choose from already.
