I don't see either trade happening, even at the deadline.
At best, Carter is unmovable and just kinda there. At worst, he's an anmovable liability. Either way, I can't see him waiving his NMC and I think we're stuck with him.
As for Hartman, he's a top 6 player on a Minnesota team that I doubt will be selling at the deadline. Furthermore, Hartman plays center, which is arguably a position of weakness for the Wild. Even if we assume Minnesota has a nightmare season and are selling at the deadline, I think they could get more for a cheap rental that has scored at a 60-ish point pace over the last 2 seasons.
I'd love this as a Pens fan, but I cannot see it happening.
