If Tbay wants to jump the waiver wire to get Jones, then the Leafs will accept a 3rd Rd pick for exchange.

No way the Leafs should help a division rival.

Jones is on waivers right now... Tampa can claim him for free regardless. Leafs have no say in the matter right now.

But I would not be surprised to see Toronto claim Bogosian and Tampa claim Jones.

If I’m Tampa I’m trying to trade with Florida for knight, over trying to pick up jones.

Knight is signed 4.5m x 3 years. Tampa already has a 9.5m goalie. They don't need a high cap, long term goalie. They just need a low cap, short term stop gap, until Vasi is back up and running. They just need to grab a guy off waivers for a few months.

The Rangers need a backup goalie too, Quick should retire, his pre-season proves he ain't Nhl material.

My bad, you're right.

Honestly with all the cap space Chi or Sjs or Buf have, I think one of those teams would place a claim, carry 3 goalies if need be and trade Jones when a team is willing to give up a 5th Rd pick,
