Assuming we don't put Arvidsson on LTIR (wouldn't play til November)

I was thinking Turcotte would be called up, but he is paid more than 875K :(

Spence can't play until game 3, unfortunately.

The emergency recall will likely be used on Spence. The biggest gap in the roster right now is on the point on PP2. Matt Roy filled in there last night and was completely lost. Spence and Clarke had been practicing there all pre-season.

I don't think we can use it for a defenseman if the forward is the reason for an emergency call-up (we played without a forward last game, but a full defense). I have to admit, I don't know these rules too well.

You can. The rule only specifies "18 and 2." So if the Kings fall below 18 skaters or 2 goaltenders due to suspension or injury, they can recall a skater or a goaltender to cover until the "emergency" ends. Maximum cap hit $875k.

Looks like it's all moot now. The Kings put Arvidsson on LTIR which means multiple recalls incoming.
