After the road trip

Created by: Jah1722
Team: 2023-24 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 21, 2023
Published: Oct. 22, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bring up Regenda for the road trip. Waive Vaak and/or Jones if they’re not ready to send Luneau back to juniors yet.

Vatrano-McT-Strome worked game 1 but hasn’t been good since might be time to break that trio up a bit.

After the trip if Regenda shows he should stay and when Killorn returns, Henrique or Strome to 3C, Groulx to 4C. Carrick, Silf, Leason, McGinn rotate at 4W spots. Luneau would have to go to juniors at this point tho. Johnston gets waived to bring back a 7th D.

If we're going to waive someone, waive someone we have no reason to consider next year, Johnston, Carrick, or Silf.

There will be openings at end of season for Regenda to show us what he has, no need to burn games early, extra time in SD isn't going to hurt him.

Jones and Vaak won’t be ducks next season. Regenda has proven he’s worthy of a recall.

I agree with Vaaks, but Jones will still be around. The room loves him and he's upping his game.

He’s awful and has been at his worse to start the season. He’s gone.

Not sure about having our three most natural goal scorers on the second line together, but with Z, Leo, and Terry meshing well together we are sort of low on top 6 playmakers to insert there. I'm interested to see if that top line sticks together all season, but otherwise love the idea of bringing up a Regenda or Nesterenko even, though maybe on the next road trip. I dont think any of our forwards are too worthy of being bumped out of the lineup this early on, the team has been playing really well thus far

What about him do you think is the worst he's ever played? I've been watching him and I like what he's doing now, this up tempo system is working for him.

Honestly after watching last night, Rico looked cooked. He was never the fastest guy on the ice but this new system is making him stand out and not in a good way.

If Cronin wants to load manage Carlsson, then I would rather have Jones cycle into 1LW instead of Rico, because at least Jones can keep up and it replaced the big body in the crease when Leo is resting, at least until Killorn is back. Jones and Terry were showing good chemistry at the end of last season with McTavish.

Jones was pretty good last night but his 1st 3 games of the season were poor. He’s a 4th line straight line guy. He has no business in the top 6.

Henrique’s impact was still good last night at 5v5. And Vatrano-McT-Strome were very good again.

I still think Regenda should come up at least until Killorn and Mcginn are back. Groulx and Siflverberg need some help offensively. They give up nothing at 5v5 but don’t produce any offense either. Maybe Regenda can help them.

For the road trip:
Z-Carlsson-Terry
Vatrano-McT-Strome
Regenda-Groulx-Silf
Jones-Carrick-Leason

The team really needs goals. They’ve produced some good analytics but if they don’t start seeing some production it’s gonna take a toll mentally. Regenda can help the bottom 6 for now.

They're just not shooting the puck. A lot of the power play and extra man the kids have been nervous about taking the shot, and they just need to shoot. We had one of the, if not the absolute hardest start of season of any team and other than Vegas, we kept loses tight and outplayed the other teams, we just didn't have luck going our way. This next 5 games should be much more indictive of what we can do.

I know Regenda is lighting up the A, but that's not necessarily going to translate. He didn't earn a spot out of camp and a 4 game hot streak isn't enough sample size to convince me it'll work.

He’s waiver exempt and the amount of bodies made him a logical choice to go down which is why I think bringing him up for a week or two until Killorn is back isn’t a bad idea. He’ll be able to go right back down if he struggles or when roster spot is needed. Killorn injury was estimated 5 weeks, we’re at like 4 weeks. Also Regenda was actually good for Eakins too.
