Gotta feel for Heinen, he is just kinda stuck now, put his eggs in with Boston and now what does he do?

Well, he's better than few forwards and there's still a spot available even with Poitras. However, if they back off after telling him they would sign him and now don't, that's an issue.

Agreed - Heinen is a better player than Brown. Waive Brown and sign Heinen to that contract and have him be your 13th forward.

Is Heinen that much better than Brown that the owners should burn 800k in Providence? I think the answer is yes, but I could see them saying no.

I would agree with you that the answer is yes, but fair point on ownership.

Is it though? While you and I may agree that Poitras should stay, I don't know if the shrewd business minded head office would. They also may have already made the decision (unbeknownst to us) to only let him play his 9 games, send him back and sign Heinen. I wouldn't be surprised if the lines on game 10 are : JVR/Zacha/Pasta : Marchy/Coyle/DeBrusk : Frederick/Geekie/Heinen : Lucic/Beecher/Lauko : with Brown waiting in the wings.

I think we got our answer - Brown should be on waivers tomorrow.
