Klingberg has been fine and has done what he was brought in to do which is be the PP guy on the back end and he’s also been more physical so he won’t be going anywhere.

Domi has been as advertised - a streaky player. He’s best when he’s moving his feet and moving north to south but when he tries to get fancy and go east to west he’s been in trouble. He’ll stick around cause he was brought in for his playoff performance not his regular season.

Bertuzzi has been awful IMO. The underlying numbers are good when he’s with Matttews and Marner but his play doesn’t look good on the ice. There’s no energy and he acts like he doesn’t care when he’s in the room and he’s been very arrogant. If there’s a deal for him at the deadline I wouldn’t be shocked if Treliving looked at moving him.

Klingberg signing has always been dreadful. If you are going to pay a dman that much money as a competitive, salary cap team, he has to be in your top4. Klingberg can't play top4 mins because he is atrocious defensively. I don't disagree they needed guys that could help against the transition as that was exposed by Florida, but It's poor cap management to spend that much on a guy that should be your 5-6 dman that needs sheltering. Seems like they read the market wrong and should have tried to out wait Dumba who was their first choice.

I agree with Domi being brought in for the playoffs, but I think he's just playing with the wrong players. You make it sound like his game is a grinder game, and it's not that. His game is almost entirely rushed based. He needs to play with certain players to do that.

Bertuzzi again was brought in for the playoffs. I don't know if I buy his game is better then, but it's hard to argue against the track record. So you have to wait for the playoffs. He was dreadful for 20+ games in Boston when he went there last year. He was probably the worst player on the best regular season team ever. And then he was one of maybe 3 players that showed up for the playoffs there.

If the idea is that these guys were brought in for the playoffs, I guess you have to bank on your core guys getting you there and then these additions really coming into play with helping the core guys get through.

Defence they have to do something though. No debate there.

For the most part this was a joke, obviously you can pull more than a seventh. Also Anaheim every team in the league would accept this cuz they could just move those players for more
